Combine Relevant Risk Data
Merit creates a shared, industry-reported incident data layer — combined with public risk indicators — into one structured view. Instead of manually checking multiple sources or relying only on credit checks, you see relevant risk context in one place.
Expand Visibility Across the Industry
Incident data doesn’t stay isolated within a single yard. Shared visibility helps surface broader context that wouldn’t appear in local records alone.
Surface Risk Before Equipment is Released
Risk signals appear during the rental workflow, giving your team visibility before equipment leaves the yard. This allows you to review the context and ensure the rental aligns with your risk policies and exposure limits.
Reduce Overall Rental Exposure
With broader, structured visibility into risk signals and incident patterns, you can make more informed decisions and reduce exposure across your operation.

MOTIVATION
Why I Built Merit
In many industries, a small number of incidents account for a disproportionate share of losses. Yet the information needed to assess risk is often limited to basic credit checks and local records.
In equipment rental, a single transaction can carry significant financial exposure. When issues occur, the cost can be substantial — but there is no shared system for surfacing relevant incident data across the industry.
Merit was built to change that. By introducing industry-reported incident data — alongside public risk indicators — Merit creates a new layer of visibility that rental operators have never had before. The goal is simple: provide clearer context before equipment leaves the yard so decisions can be made with greater confidence.
